This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to give competent first aid to the ill or injured until medical aid arrives in a sporting environment. The recognition, assessment and immediate on-site management of sports injuries are crucial to facilitate rehabilitation and to minimise further risk of harm to the athlete. Included in the training are the basic techniques of (cpr), the use of an automated external defibrillator (aed) and the action to take in the event of fractures/bleeding. There is no exam or assessment with this course but full participation is required to receive certification.
